Professional Skateboarder
Throughout my career as a professional skateboarder, I have had the privilege of representing some of the leading brands in the industry, including Toy Machine Skateboards, Independent Trucks, ASICS and previously represented DC Shoes. Notably, in November 2022, I became the first female athlete in the company's 30-year history to receive a custom colorway. This achievement involved collaborating with other designers to develop a cohesive and meaningful message, theme, and concept. I worked closely with the head of the DC Shoe Footwear Design team to select appropriate materials, including specialty fabrics and imagery, to bring the design to life.
Given a two-week timeframe to finalize the design, concept, and message, I had to manage my time, stay organized, and communicate effectively to meet the deadline. Once the design was submitted, no further changes were allowed. Following the submission, I had approximately six months to develop marketing assets, which involved collaborating with videographers and photographers to select suitable locations for shooting the advertisement and choosing the tricks that would best showcase the shoes.
Ultimately, my design outperformed sales expectations, achieving a total of 1,341 units sold globally and generating net sales of $37,094.49.
One memorable experience with DC Shoes was my trip to Costa Rica and Panama. On this trip I met another female rider from Chile. Despite the language barrier—she only spoke Spanish and I only spoke English—we shared a room and initially communicated through our phones. Over the course of the week, we developed a strong friendship and began teaching each other our languages. We exchanged stories about our respective cultures and gradually learned to communicate without relying on technology. Building this relationship was one of my favorite memories from the entire trip.

Skateboarding Instructor/Counselor
During this period, I worked with Woodward Action Sports Camp, a premier destination for advancing athletic skills in action sports. I had the rewarding opportunity to coach and counsel aspiring skateboarders of all ages, sharing my expertise and helping them develop their skills. Witnessing their growth and enthusiasm for skateboarding was incredibly fulfilling.
In my role as a counselor, I frequently worked with campers ranging in age from 12 to 18 years old. Managing this wide age gap required tailoring my communication and supervision strategies to meet the distinct needs of each age group. For the 12-year-olds, I focused on ensuring they maintained good hygiene, such as brushing their teeth, and provided additional support and engagement during nighttime, as they often experienced homesickness. For the 18-year-olds, I emphasized the importance of adhering to camp rules while balancing their need for independence. This involved closely monitoring their activities to ensure compliance without infringing on their sense of freedom.
As an instructor, I worked with other skate staff to organize, operate and manage skateboard competitions throughout the week. This involved collaborating with other team members to delegate responsibilities such as judging, announcing and recruiting campers to participate.

Pendleton Parlor
At the Parlor, I managed customer orders from start to finish, handling everything from taking orders and processing payments to preparing and serving the items. I was the primary point of contact for customers, addressing and resolving any complaints or issues that arose.
Often I operated the business independently for several hours, which required me to think creatively and be resourceful in solving problems as they arose. One memorable instance involved handling a DoorDash order while I was working alone. After completing the order, I placed it in the fridge for the driver to pick up. When the driver arrived, he noticed that an item was missing from his order list. Although I had fulfilled the entire order on my end, I had never encountered this type of situation before.
I quickly assessed the situation and noticed the patron's phone number was on the order. I contacted the patron to clarify the discrepancy and ensure they were not charged for the additional item that was not listed on my order sheet. Once everything was confirmed, I explained the situation to the driver. The issue was resolved, and the driver left satisfied. This experience allowed me to develop and refine my problem-solving skills, adding a new level of expertise to my abilities.
