About Me.

Hi, my name is Susie Heath. I grew up in Cincinnati, OH, and now reside in Long Beach, CA. Since childhood, I dreamed of becoming a professional skateboarder, and that dream came true in May 2021. Over the past four years, I’ve had the privilege of representing top industry brands such as DC Shoes, Toy Machine Skateboards, and Independent Trucks. While maintaining a professional level in skateboarding, I also work in Guest Services at the Aquarium of the Pacific. This role is entirely customer-facing, requiring constant interaction with guests throughout each shift. It demands quick learning, effective communication with a diverse range of guests and departments, and a commitment to exceeding guest expectations to create exceptional experiences.

Both skateboarding and my role at the Aquarium have imparted invaluable life lessons, shaping me into who I am today. They have taught me persistence, self-motivation, hard work, and resilience. I now aim to leverage these skills alongside my education to further challenge myself and grow both personally and professionally.

My Skateboarding Journey

DC Colorway -

In June 2021, I had the incredible opportunity to design a colorway for DC Shoes, which stands as my highest achievement in skateboarding. I was responsible for the concept, colors, materials, and design of a slip-on shoe for the company. The design process was swift, with only a two-week timeframe to develop the concept.

The most important aspect for me was the message behind the shoe. I wanted it to express gratitude to those who have supported me throughout my life. The tagline, "Never In The Dark," symbolizes that even in the loneliest times, there is always someone willing to listen. You are never truly alone.

The shoe was released globally in November 2022, and the sales exceeded expectations, selling out in most sizes.

Skate Like A Girl

Skate Like a Girl is a community that I have had the privilege of being apart of since August 2021. It is a community designed to empower individuals and instill confidence to promote equity through skateboarding. To create an inclusive community by promoting confidence, leadership, and social justice through the sport of skateboarding.

S.L.A.G Camp - 8/14/24

I had the honor of participating in a panel interview where we discussed mental health, skateboarding, and the broader skateboarding industry. The panel included notable figures such as Alex White, Samaria Brevard, Leo Baker, and Ashley Masters.
